Hi! I'm Olivia, a 15-year-old art and amigurumi creator. I remember being really little and seeing a crocheted lamb in a yarn store. I thought it was the coolest thing and was absolutely thrilled years later when I saw a book on how to make them in my library. At first I thought I would never be able to do it, but sure enough, I got into the groove and have been doing amigurumi for over a year now.

I'm really excited that my birthday is coming up next week and I'm going to get a camera. Now I will be able to take better quality pictures of my amigurumis instead of the ones from the webcam. I had such a great time crocheting in the Harvard green yesterday. (No, I'm not a harvard student.) I was waiting for my program in Cambridge to start when I decided instead of browsing stores that I should crochet. I made a bug person which I will post shortly and a fennec fox for my friend.
Sometimes I go through phases where I'm really hooked on crocheting and do a lot of it. Sometimes I get bored with it and take a break. Right now I'm in a phase where it's so relaxing and I love to do it like crazy.

I've noticed that the turtles are pretty popular both on my facebook and here. That's why I'm making a big turtle today. It takes time and a lot of work and my mom always tells me to read/ do my homework instead but crocheting is something that calms me down. I think that's one of the reasons why amigurumi and crocheting are so popular with the people I know and teach how to do.
Most people want to do something artsy that's cute and makes a great gift. They want something more different and original than a painting, (even though paintings are great.) Giving a good friend a crocheted doll is almost guaranteed to be a gift they've never recie
